OCAthlete had two teams competing at 12 Hours of Temecula with Paul Myer , Steve (nightrider) Austin, Dave Bourne, and Brett Brian taking 3rd place in the open 4 man category on a typical blistering desert day in Temecula.
Steve Austin showed us again why he is the toughest guy we all know, by blazing through the night in nothing but lycra to claim a come from behind victory on the last lap of the evening. Other notables was Patrick Bourne where he again showed us that, it’s never a good trail unless he marks it with his blood…I know he is looking forward to taking on the “Cheese Grater” at the next race.
Other than losing an “Ellsworth” off the back of the truck on the way home, which by the way is much more traumatic than losing a Specialized - the day and night was filled with pain driven fun. Dave Bourne gives us a run down by numbers:
-
8 Number of OC Athletes competing in 2 teams

-
22 total laps run by both teams
-
220 miles raced

-

-
